The top 50 restaurants in the United Kingdom for 2020 have been selected by The Good Food Guide and the list features a handful of our most loved foodie spots. Let’s dig in…
On September 10th, the Good Food Guide announced its selection of the UK’s best restaurants, along with a list of awards that recognize chefs and restaurants for their sheer talent and dedication to excellence in the culinary industry.

The Good Food Guide has been masterfully curating their list of the best UK restaurants since 1951, and more than 6 decades after its release, the list is now held in high regard in the culinary industry. Chefs dream of a mention on this list, and with good reason, since it means they’re rubbing shoulders with the region’s greatest gastronomic minds.

Three restaurants have received the coveted 10/10 cooking score this year, and it happens to be the same trio who scored full points last year too. However, in the latest guide, Restaurant Nathan Outlaw no longer holds the number 1 rank as it did for the last two consecutive years (2018 & 2019), but rather sits firmly at number 3. Core by Clare Smyth – who entered with the highest new entry score since the number-based system was implemented in 1998 – takes the no. 2 position, nudging up 1 spot since last year. The 2020 winner is Simon Rogan’s Cumbria outpost, L’Enclume.

Simon Rogan shares his joy on the achievement: “I couldn’t be happier with the news that L’Enclume has returned to the No.1 spot in the Good Food Guide. It is a huge achievement which we have worked exceedingly hard towards, and I am very proud of my team who have made it possible. I am privileged to work alongside such talented individuals, and making the number one spot again has only fuelled our collective determination to get better and better.”
