The hotel will be a centerpiece of the Hopson One Suhewan development that will include grade-A offices, residences, a shopping center, educational institutions and galleries.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will enter Shanghai with the opening of Rosewood Shanghai in 2024.  When it opens, the property will join the brand’s other properties in China, including Rosewood Beijing, the recently opened Rosewood Sanya, Rosewood Hong Kong opening in Winter this year, and Rosewood Chengdu that will open in 2023.

Owned by Hopson Commercial Property Management Company, Rosewood Shanghai will have views from the top floors of a new skyscraper in the Suhe Creek area. The hotel’s central location will provide views of Shanghai’s Huangpu River and skyline, and access to the Bund promenade, Nanjing Road commercial area, People’s Square, Jing’an Temple and the Shanghai Exhibition Center.

The hotel will be a centerpiece of the Hopson One Suhewan development that will include grade-A offices, residences, a shopping center, educational institutions and galleries, located in the Jing’an commercial, retail and entertainment district.

Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects was appointed as designer of the 220-room hotel, which will also include 83 Rosewood Residences; all accommodations will showcase views of Shanghai’s skyline.  The Manor Club, Rosewood’s executive lounge, will be featured at Rosewood Shanghai.

The property will have four dining venues, including a café, bistro, Chinese restaurant and a rooftop restaurant and bar.

The hotel will also be home to Asaya, Rosewood’s wellness concept, following its first urban debut at Rosewood Hong Kong, and the original Asaya at Rosewood Phuket.  Rosewood Shanghai’s Asaya will be supported by other facilities, including a fitness center and an indoor swimming pool.

For events, Rosewood Shanghai will have a total of 1,390 square meters (14,962 square feet) of function and meeting space to include the 450-square-meter (4,844 square foot) Pavilion, the brand’s residentially styled meeting and event space; a 600-square-meter (6,458 square foot) ballroom; meeting rooms; event studios and a bridal suite.
