Anantara debuts in Spain

Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas has announced the opening of its first property in Spain — Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavis Marbella Resort. The resort is located on Spain’s southern coast, and is a 50-minute drive from Malaga International Airport.

Commenting on this new launch, Dillip Rajakarier, chief executive officer, Minor Hotels and Anantara parent company, commented, “We are truly thrilled to launch Anantara Villa Padierna Palace as our first Anantara in Spain. With our significant recent growth in Europe, especially in Spain, to have the opportunity to expand the footprint of our luxury Anantara brand is incredibly important to us. This is a fantastic addition to Anantara’s growing portfolio and we are confident the property will offer a special experience to our guests.”

Designed by British architect, Ed Gilbert, the resort features more than 1,200 artworks. There are over 120 guest rooms and suites, in addition to nine luxurious one- and two-bedroom villas. All of the villas and guestrooms have private terraces, that offer stunning golf course and sea views.

The F&B offerings include Spain’s popular 99 Sushi Bar and Restaurant and a new restaurant by two Michelin star chef Paco Roncero — O by Paco Roncero. Guests can also enjoy champagne and oysters at Club de Mar Beach Club.

The highlight of this property is the Anantara Spa, offering ten specialised treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy circuit with three dedicated rooms, a Hammam, aromatherapy steam rooms and relaxation areas.

For recreational activities, there is the Villa Padierna Golf Club with three 18-hole golf courses. Additionally, there is also the 2043 sqm Villa Padierna Racquet Club equipped with tennis courts, paddle tennis courts and a croquet lawn.
