Zaya S. Younan Grows Luxury Resort Company with 7th French Chateau Hotel

Los Angeles, Jan. 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- La Grande Maison Younan Collection has acquired its seventh French chateau-hotel in less than three years with the purchase of Domaine et Golf de Vaugouard, which will operate as Chateau de Vaugouard. The 4-star luxury, resort hotel with 55 rooms and suites, includes a challenging 18-hole golf course, which surrounds the Chateau creating an exceptional resort environment.

According to Zaya S. Younan, chairman and CEO of the Younan Collection and of Younan Properties, this is a significant acquisition for the company. “The Younan Collection is being recognized as a global French luxury brand and Chateau de Vaugouard is a strategic step in that direction. This historic hotel embodies what the Younan Collection is all about - elegance, culture, and history.”

This eighteenth century hotel and estate is located an hour’s drive from Paris and located near Montargis, a community that is known as the ‘Venice of France’ for its canals, bridges and historic buildings. The castle was built in 1750 by Colonel Salis Samade, the last commander of the Swiss regiment guarding the King of France. For more than a century, the castle was maintained as a nobleman’s residence. Baron Henri de Triqueti, known as “sculptor of princes.” The Baron was commissioned to create the bronze doors of the Madeleine Church in Paris. Later, the Baron gave the Chateau to the Duke of Orleans, the eldest son of King Louis Philippe I, and the Chateau became a renowned hunting residence.

The estate changed ownership several times and during that period, there were numerous renovations and upgrades including the addition of an 18-hole golf course, driving range, club house, locker rooms and a pro shop, a beautifully landscaped park and expanded meeting rooms. A former stable was reimagined with 31 luxury guest rooms that overlook a meticulous garden courtyard. The goal was to provide a luxurious complex with all the amenities while still keeping the architectural heritage.

Chateau de Vaugouard is recognized for its gastronomic restaurant with a large outdoor terrace. It also has a country-club style bar and a lounge that benefits from views across the terrace to the golf course and the woods around the Chateau. The Chateau includes a large swimming pool, bar and changing rooms.

Zaya Younan added, “Our goal has been to make strategic acquisitions in the Loire Valley and scale our luxury hotel brand so that everyone is able to get a touch of royalty with history. Every person deserves to spend a night in a castle, and to be pampered as a member of a royal family. We plan making additional improvements that will further distinguish Chateau de Vaugouard as one of the premier luxury resorts in the region.”
