La Réserve Paris: Luxury, Calm and Voluptuousness in the very heart of the Champs-Elysées
Located in a 19th century private mansion, in close proximity to one of the world’s most famous avenues and a stone’s throw from the Triangle d'or and its prestigious venues, La Réserve offers an exceptional environment in a muted and exclusive atmosphere envisioned by Michel Reybier. At number 42 of Avenue Gabriel, the hotel opens on the sumptuous haven of greenery of the Champs-Elysées’ gardens.
Invaluable materials, vast spaces: the elegance of the 19th century Paris matches the contemporary chic.
At first sight, the hotel’s majestic facade brings up the history of Haussmann’s Paris. The building was indeed designed by Napoleon III’s half-brother. In 2015, Michel Reybier started a restoration process and collaborated for the occasion with the most prominent designer Joseph Garcia. The designer’s signature took the shape of utmost elegance, amalgamating the preciosity of the Second Empire interiors – mouldings, silk tapestries and Versailles parquet floor, as well as the contemporary comfort of luxurious textiles and design objects – whereas the furniture for the restaurant Le Gabriel integrated this sumptuous timelessness by declining it with Arts & Crafts touches.
The hosts of La Réserve’s 40 rooms and suites have a private access to the library with a view on an inner courtyard where they can work or relax; an area with a club spirit is also available for smokers. Some of the rooms not only offer a direct view on the Champs-Elysées’ gardens, they also are very spacious, an extremely sought-after comfort in the French capital, and provide sports facilities as well! Here still, the Carrara marble bathrooms expose the love of sophisticated materials.
This ode to wellness continues in the luxurious delight of the Spa and its 52-ft swimming pool. Along with the wellbeing treatments, exclusively provided for La Réserve by the Nescens-Swiss anti-aging science brand, hotels guests have a 24/7 access to the swimming-pool, the hammam and the sports hall.
From accommodation to gastronomy in a single watchword: excellence
The restaurant Le Gabriel, run by Jerôme Banctel – who earned his skills at the Hôtel de Crillon or at L’Ambroisie – holds, since 2016, a rare and shining two-star excellence. The hotel’s other restaurant, La Pagode de Cos, also run by chef Banctel, is not to be outdone and features dishes reflecting the demanding spirit of French gastronomy, blended with Japanese fragrances. Indeed, the luxury of the restaurants’ decorative setting not only finds an echo in the sumptuousness of the food and wine matches, but also in Marco Tognon’s charismatic and experienced management. In season, both restaurants offer the possibility to lunch or dine on the terrace.
La Pagode de Cos
The exclusive offer of La Réserve is supplemented by a series of 10 apartments, from 1,500 to 3,200 sqft, located Place du Trocadéro. There, the muted luxury of the Second Empire-inspired decoration is abandoned and the generosity of the volumes and of typical haussmannian architectonic patterns is declined in a sober and contemporary atmosphere signed Rémi Tessier.
