Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez: the renaissance of an icon

The Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez opened its doors in 1931, right in the heart of Saint-Tropez village, on lovely square Blanqui, also known as La place de la Gendarmerie, which also hosts a Chanel boutique and a cinema museum. Both the port and Place des Lices are within a five-minute walk.

For decades, the establishment has been the preferred venue for painters, writers, movie stars and for a world jet set who wrote a new chapter of the charming Var village. In the fifties, it was a gathering haven for the whole of Saint-Germain-des-Prés artistic milieu, including Juliette Gréco, Boris Vian or Jean-Paul Sartre.

Its restoration, on the initiative of the Dray family, took place under the supervision of the architect firm François Vieillecroze, with the collaboration of interior designer Sybille de Margerie.

Upon their entrance, hotel guests are immediately immersed into sumptuous and luminous spaces. At the top of the atrium, a transparent-bottom pool is revealed, suspended fifteen meters above the ground.

Bold and coloured design for an extraordinary luxury experience

The 52 rooms and 38 suites’ decoration is firmly centered on highlighting the coloured world of Saint-Tropez and the sixties, the years that marked the hotel’s history. The luxurious comfort of the furniture fully retains this vintage spirit with, among others, golden ring lamps and flowered or rattan armchairs.

The interior designer skilfully blended the rooms’ generous volumes with famous names of world design. The furniture and interior decoration are signed Knoll and B&B Italia, Pierre Frey, Sahco Hesslein.

The very roomy mosaic-tiled bathrooms feature Clarins products.

But the hotel’s remarkable feature is the rooftop pool: the ideal setting to relax while enjoying a breathtaking view on the village and the port.

The fabulous Clarins spa includes a hammam, a sauna, a sensory shower and an ice fountain.

Happiness, refinement and Mediterranean spirit

The hotel’s restoration offer is an ode to the Mediterranean cuisine proposed by chef Pierre-Alain Garnier. Glass walled restaurant Les Toits offers a 180-degree view on Saint-Tropez. An olive-tree showcases rustic interiors with rattan seats and straw-encased lights.

Many sofas and floral mural paintings invade the nearby rooftop bar. The ground floor restaurant, Le Pationata, breathes a very romantic atmosphere with a view  on a green courtyard.

From the basement, hosting the Clarins spa, up to the rooftop terrace dominating the village, location of the outdoor pool, of the Toits Lounge, and of the hotel’s rooftop bar, the Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez knows how to enchant its hosts, not to mention the postcard sunsets on the village skyline. The Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez conveys the typical Saint-Tropez glamour while offering an exceptional experience and a total change of scene in the heart of an authentic village.
