Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva marks its 15th anniversary and launches a series of festive celebrations, including Christmas-inspired treatments at the Spa and festive menus to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year

Fringed by the snow-capped Alps and the Jura mountain range, Geneva is the perfect family holiday winter destination. Switzerland’s second largest city offers plenty of outdoor winter activities, with superb lake and mountain hiking, and some of the continent’s best skiing just a short drive away. The city’s beautiful Old Town is a maze of winding cobbled streets and pretty squares filled with historical sights, museums, cafes and restaurants serving delectable Swiss delights, including velvety hot chocolates and the country’s much-loved cheese fondue – both the perfect antidote to a cold winter’s day.

Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva is ideally located by the lake, moments away from the city’s boutiques and independent shops, making it the perfect base to enjoy some Christmas shopping. Interiors have been tastefully decorated for the festive season, with elaborate decorations, pine garlands and snow-dusted firs. A snug and cosy wintry ambience pervades the Hotel, creating a sophisticated private-house feel.

To celebrate the festive season and to mark its 15th anniversary, Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues is offering a number of special experiences to reconnect with loved ones.

Throughout December 2020, truffles take centre stage, with a range of mouth-watering truffle-based delights available. At the Bar, guests can savour a decadent hot chocolate with white truffle cream served with a butter-infused white truffle biscuit, or sip on Christmas cocktail creations made with truffles. Expert mixologists shake up other winter warmers too, including hot toddies and mulled wine. At Michelin-starred Il Lago, Chef Massimiliano Sena has created all manner of truffle-based dishes, including a creamy risotto dish, while at the more informal and legendary Izumi, guests can enjoy a tender filet mignon with teriyaki truffle sauce.

For those looking for the perfect sweet gift, yule logs are available for purchase (24 hours notice is required). A lid slides off the gift box, leaving the log ready to be served on an elegant base tray.

To celebrate Christmas, Chef Sena of Il Lago has created a festive menu that will be available on the evening of December 24, 2020, while on December 25, traditional Italian specialities will be available à la carte, including vitello tonnato, pasta e patate, and rack of lamb. For a more informal dining experience, guests can enjoy simple bites at the Salon Dufour lounge, which serves light fare in a welcoming setting.

On New Year’s Eve, Il Lago and Izumi will both offer a taste of their very best tasting menus featuring a selection of rich and flavoursome dishes, while strolling musicians will provide live music performances at the Hotel’s three dining outlets, with festive tunes creating a lively, sophisticated ambience.

Throughout the festive season, guests will be able to hire the Hotel’s 6th floor junior suite to enjoy a meal in privacy. With its warming fireplace and sophisticated lounge with sofas, the Izumi Like Home experience offers a cosy, homey setting, making it the perfect place for guests seeking to dine in a private and enjoyable way over the holiday season.

The warm and home-like festive ambience continues at Spa Mont Blanc, which is spread out over the top three floors of the Hotel. A large Christmas tree dominates the Spa lobby, offering guests the chance to jot down their Christmas wishes on slips of paper and place them in the branches of the tree. The perfect spot to relax and recharge, the Spa offers treatments designed to leave guests feeling refreshed and pampered for Christmas. This season, an all-immersive Spa experience is designed to awaken the senses and create an authentic festive feel.

In the treatment rooms, soothing background music with instrumental Christmas songs adds to the festive spirit, while aromatherapy candles with soothing scents create a cosy, comforting feel, with potpourri with pinecones, cinnamon sticks and dried orange slices further adding to the Christmas ambience. Treatments use gingerbread massage oil, and include a non-alcoholic mulled wine drink and a delectable chocolate bite crafted by a renowned chocolatier from Geneva. Along with the rituals listed on the Spa menu, guests can choose from two treatments that have been designed specially for the Christmas season, namely a 50-minute Swiss cocoa nourishing body wrap, and a 50- or 80-minute Thai herbal ball massage that works on acupuncture points to relieve tension and muscle pain.
