The hills of the Mont D’Arbois come alive in summer, when the lush countryside becomes an open invitation to trekkers, strollers and mountain goats alike, and on July 10, 2020 Les Chalets du Mont d´Arbois Megève, A Four Seasons Hotel, will exceptionally open its doors for a singular summer season, just in time for the ultimate replenishing getaway everyone needs right now. Think endless green fields, an unparalleled scenery. With closed eyes, feel the cool, crisp mountain air on the face, pick some wild blueberries, paddle on the Lac de Flumet and star gaze at night. All this and much more for families to enjoy together this summer while staying at Les Chalets du Mont D’Arbois, a unique collaboration between Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the world leader in luxury hotels, and Edmond de Rothschild Heritage, which celebrates this year a very special centenary anniversary. Indeed, 100 years ago, Noémie de Rothschild discovered the charming village of Megève: she saw its full potential and initiated various works to turn it into a family ski resort. From generation to generation, the Rothschild family has breathed its art of living into Megève and today invites guests to discover Les Chalets du Mont d'Arbois during a summer getaway.

Regenerate Mind and Body in the Great Outdoors

At Les Chalets du Mont d'Arbois, the idyllic setting and the curated wellness programs invite guests to live more consciously, to slow their pace, and to be mindful. The Spa by Bamford was recently renovated in a modern yet cosy style and the floor-to-ceiling windows give way to a splendid indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool complete with balneotherapy, and a terrace to contemplate the unparalleled alpine scenery.

The detox cure is the ideal program to purify and regenerate one’s body. It includes a jade stone massage and a balanced, healthy lunch prepared with great care by Michelin-starred Chef Nicolas Hensinger.

The babymoon offer was especially created for future mamans et papas wishing to share a moment of serenity before the arrival of their newborn baby. The offer includes an Ayurvedic massage training for the baby-to-come as well as a massage just for two.

After much success in March, the Better Living day will return on July 11, 2020, offering a unique opportunity to recharge batteries in perfect harmony with the mountains. Katy Mission, yoga teacher and physiotherapist, develops tailormade programs aimed at increasing the inner capacities of each person to live better: yoga classes, outdoor mediation, conference, moments of relaxation at the spa, and a detox lunch developed by Chef Nicolas Hensinger.

Experience the Mountain Like Never Before: Extraordinary Escapades

Those wishing to reacquaint themselves with the more discreet charms of the Mont D’Arbois in the warmer months can enjoy an array of outdoor nature activities. The region is renowned for its hiking trails surrounded by knee-high wild flowers, paddling in the magnificent Lac Flumet and one of the real outdoor summer treats for speed lovers are the mountain biking adventures, complete with jaw-dropping views of the Mont Joly. Guests can also experience a candlelight dinner in a traditional yurt, and the cherry on the cake? A trip to the nearby observatory located in the heights of the domain, allowing them to admire the spectacle of the constellations. Its exceptional location makes it the ideal spot for stargazing while enjoying the silent charm of a summer night at the top of the mountain.

Golf Enthusiasts, Rejoice

The 18-hole golf course at Domaine du Mont is the oldest mountain course, a bucket list round in its own right. It is accessible on foot from the Hotel and offers a unique view of Mont Joly or the Chaine des Aravis. The Mont-Blanc international trophy and several pro-am tournaments are hosted here, and day trips by helicopter are offered to discover the most beautiful golf courses in the region, while admiring an exceptional spectacle from the sky.

Additional Activities Proposed This Summer

  • Helicopter safaris, tailor-made tours to explore the region with a theme of your choice: golf, fishing, gastronomy, or discovery of Mont-Blanc glaciers
  • In the air: hot air balloon ride, parachute jumping, introduction to helicopter driving, paragliding or hang gliding
  • Close to the mountains: Via Ferrata and climbing, electric mountain bike ride, fishing, canyoning or rafting and outdoor yoga session
  • For the youngest guests: mini-farm, pony rides, electric boat and buggy rides

Altitude Culinary Experiences

The Rothschild way of life also manifests itself through gastronomy, where Nicolas Hensinger offers refined local cuisine in his Prima restaurant, one Michelin-Star awarded. Guests may also accompany the Chef to his backyard - the mountains while he picks his favourite aromatic plants - and then cook alongside him back at the Chalet.

"The mountain offers a multitude of plants with singular flavours; it is in this natural environment that I come to draw my inspiration for my recipes,” says Nicolas Hensinger. Wine is a passionate affair here too, a heritage at the Domaine du Mont d´Arbois, which is surpassed each day by the Chef Sommelier Alexandre Pons, who invites guests to share a one-of-a-kind tasting experience: a tailormade day discovering the vineyards of the region. Exceptional wine tasting and an authentic picnic among the vineyards will be led by the Chef Sommelier in person.
