Chanel hits the airwaves. The French label has debuted Chanel Connects, a new culture podcast that gathers talents from the worlds of art, film, fashion, music, and more to discuss how their respective industries can move forward in today's turbulent world. It focuses on “what matters most and what happens next,” said Yana Peel, the brand’s global head of arts and culture. The series is available on Spotify, Apple, and Chanel's website.

Some of the speakers on queue include actresses Tilda Swinton and Keira Knightley, dancers Akram Khan and Tamara Rojo, artists Arthur Jafa and Jennifer Packer, designer Es Devlin, entertainer Pharrell Williams, museum curator Andrew Bolton, and filmmakers Lulu Wang, Garrett Bradley and Eliza Hittman. The entire podcast comprehensively addresses the challenges in the cultural landscape amid the ongoing global pandemic. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Many offer words of optimism and ways to better circumstances.

Chanel Connects is the second podcast launched by the luxury brand. In 2017, Chanel introduced 3.55, a series that takes a deep dive into its world, from the history of its iconic handbags to the production of its fashion shows to styling VIPs on the red carpet.

Other luxury houses have also produced digital programs in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and stay-at-home restrictions. Christian Dior introduced Dior Talks, a series that interviews feminist artists, while Valentino launched #ChezMaisonValentino, an initiative that recruited a roster of A-list talents for performances hosted on its Instagram.
