Indian Hotels Company has introduced the Taj brand to Rishikesh with the opening of Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa, Uttarakhand.
The resort debuted earlier with a soft opening of 25 rooms and a café and will be fully completed by November.
Located in the foothills of the Himalayas in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, Rishikesh is known as the spiritual and yoga capital of the world.
This will be the company’s third hotel in the state.
Located 30 kilometres from Rishikesh, Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa is spread across 12.5 acres of terraced gardens on the bank of the river Ganges in the shadow of the mighty Himalayas.
Each of the spacious 79 rooms and villas offer panoramic views of the mighty river, with its white sandy beach and majestic mountains.
It is also located just 30 kilometres downstream from Devprayag – a sacred confluence, where the two holy rivers, Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, merge to form the mouth of the Ganges.
Taj Rishikesh is a unique blend of contemporary and rustic in communion with nature.
It is an architectural tribute to the Garhwal region in the Himalayas where it is located.
