Member properties of Preferred Hotels & Resorts have implemented a number of positive initiatives following venue closures, spanning from supporting the local community to live streaming music events.

Across the western globe, countries are declaring a national lockdown and venues are temporarily closing as measures to tackle the coronavirus pandemic are stepped up.

Hospitality businesses are therefore looking to more creative ways to support its staff and the wider community.

Listed below are some initiatives that are taking place at Preferred Hotels & Resorts' member properties:

The Hari Hotel London, UK

Located in London’s Belgravia area, the five star hotel is supporting the local community by extending a helping hand to those who are in need. This could be through collecting and delivering groceries, offering the opportunity for a phone call, collecting supplies from the pharmacy, or simply posting mail.

The K Club, Ireland

The 18th century French-inspired, chateau-turned hotel is surrounded by over 500 acres of Irish countryside around 30 minutes away from Dublin. Owner of the estate, Michael Fetherston, has offered to support the state for free by housing healthcare professionals who may have been separated from their families, or to house people with illness.

Bobby Hotel, Nashville, US

A popular venue in downtown Nashville for live performances, Bobby Hotel has launched a new music-focused IGTV channel where a host of musicians and songwriters are anticipated to participate in and share new music, streamed live to people’s homes.

Dromoland Castle, Ireland

To help parents entertain now-home-schooled children in Ireland, the property has teamed up with Limerick artist Una Heaton to give arts and crafts lessons on the hotel’s YouTube channel. The first lesson, available now, is a tutorial on how to construct an easy-to-make castle using materials from around the house.
