The Peninsula Paris has appointed Mauro Governato to the role of general manager.
With more than 34 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Governato’s most recent position began in 2015 when he was named senior general manager for both the Four Seasons Hotel Milan and the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis.
That role following a brief stint at Rocco Forte Hotels’ Hotel de Russie in Rome, which began in early 2014.
Prior to this appointment, Governato had spent seven years with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, holding general manager positions at the Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon, Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris and Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche.
Speaking of the appointment, Peter Borer, chief operating officer, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, said: “We are looking forward to having Mauro Governato join the team at The Peninsula Paris and believe his wealth of experience will be a tremendous benefit to the continuing brand presence of our name in Paris. We are sure he will be able to take The Peninsula Paris to the next level.”
Governato began his career in the food and beverage industry, working in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe for a 15-year period.
Having worked in Hong Kong, London, Paris, Lisbon, Rome, Milan, the Maldives, Mauritius, and the Bahamas, he has a wealth of international experience with luxury institutions and brands.
